Imitation; the greatest form of flattery

For the last roughly 7 years I would wash my socks with all my cloths and pile them all in a drawer. Rarely would I match the socks, unless they were my neon pair that stood out from miles away. It simply took to much effort. In high school, I got more jokes and people commenting. Then it got to a point where I didn't even think about the fact that I wore socks that did not match. It is simply habit-if I need socks, grab them and go!

A few days ago my host brother Artem saw my socks when I was taking off my shoes and he was like 'WHAT!' and completely baffled. A day later the same scene was repeated. Then the next day I came in late and he had already been tucked into bed. So I came up the stairs softly and was going to go in the bathroom when he comes out in his sleeping wear (underwear) with this grin on his face and says 'Amanda, Look!' and he points to his feet to the socks he was wearing that were totally mismatched. I wanted to die laughing. Now, a few days later, I have not seen him wear matching socks yet. Each day he proudly shows me his newly adopted fashion. People do watch you!
