When plans get canceled...

My first week at church in Ukraine and this guy from the ward came up and offered to drive our group to a few fantastic places in Ukraine as well as go to a concert that was some big name in Ukraine, and all he wanted us to do was be missionaries to this younger girl, around our age, that worked where he lived. Then the plans got canceled because the concert is actually the weekend our group goes to Poland... it was tragic, so instead we decided to go zip-lining and have a day of adventure around Androvski street--aka souvenir street.

We started of meeting up and going to this quaint coffee shop, that was the best because the waiter  brought us blankets because we wanted to sit outside. It was really cold, but a slightly chilly breeze came through the otherwise classic cool fall day.

Do you see the blankets they gave us? It was almost as good as the first plane flight I had that they gave me a blanket...

Amber got one that was a tiger sort of pattern too.

So our sweet little waiter took all of our orders (only 2 of which were the same) and then came out with the same thing for everyone-apple pancakes with ice cream, except for Josh who got half of what he ordered. Sometimes there are mix ups when you don't speak the language :) And then he brought out our mint and chamomile tea, in a teapot! But it was good, even if it wasn't what we ordered.

There is this-I don't know what you would call it really- paved road that we crossed. Festive, but loud

Our good old friendship arch. The zip line was just behind it. It is a bit of an ironic statement- the friendship arch is symbolic for the friendship between Russia and Ukraine right now, which is just flourishing...(heavy sarcasm)

And as bad as the river smelled, I've just got to put my feet in when it looks that good.

Then as we walked back on the bridge some company had other adventure activities going on. Like slack jumping. which looks highly concerning, but the people we saw came out of it alive, but I don't know how they will feel tomorrow when they wake up.

We spent a few hours on souvenir street. I like taking a relaxing stroll and just appreciating daylight! At the end of the street was Lyviv Handmade Chocolate cafe/shop. I got my first virgin Mojito :) It was actually really good. Thank you Heather!

Yes, that is really just one of the unique elements of the park..

Did I mention about Ukraines stray dogs? They are everywhere...

Most of which are extraordinarily good at minding to their own business even when you walk by, but every now and then you get an exception... Like when I walked home alone after dark :)

 The branch president or a member of the presidency invited us to dinner with his family which was right in that area, so we ended the day looking at this park Josh found just on the other side of their apartment complex. A good day overall.
